The Law of Abundance:
How to train your subconscious mind to attract riches

Do you believe in the Law of abundance? Can you imagine listening daily to a recording full of positive suggestions to a soothing musical background? After practicing for a few days, you start attracting good things in your life. Is it the Twilight Zone? The latest marketing scam? Or, based on the workings of the subconscious mind and the Law of abundance, could it be true?

A few months ago, encouraged by a close friend and the overwhelming hype surrounding “The Secret”, I created a hypnosis recording entitled “Abundance: The Secret in Action”. This 27-minute session guides the listener to clarify what he or she wants – i.e., an intended outcome -, identify barriers to this outcome, break down those barriers with positive affirmations, and focus once again on the intended outcome. Basically, it applies the Law of abundance.

Among the various people who listened to it, and just to name a few:
- one person bought her dream car at a ridiculously low price;
- another suddenly increased her freelance income;
- a teenager got his first job within one week;
- a woman found the strength to end a relationship that was going nowhere;
- a man landed a big project that generated thousands of extra dollars of unexpected income.

So it would appear possible to manifest the Law of abundance through hypnosis. But what makes it work? Let’s look at the subconscious reasons that may be responsible for this program’s success.

What we want vs. what we don’t want

The session first asks you to focus on what you want. Most of us have a tendency to focus on what we don’t want without realizing that what we think of – and therefore what we give energy to – is bound to grow. Since we tend to attract the things that we focus on, it is very important to focus on the right ones.

By clarifying our intended outcome in a state of hypnosis, when our subconscious mind is open and highly receptive, we force ourselves to make it more real, more present in our lives. The interesting thing about placing this kind of information on a subconscious level is that the mind files it in the same location as our memories. Since the mind finds it much easier to repeat what it has already done than to go into uncharted territories, anything filed away in the subconscious mind through visualization, affirmations or hypnosis will be a lot easier to achieve.

We notice more what we focus on

Another effect of focusing on a positive outcome and making it a probable reality is that anything related to it becomes highly visible in our line of sight. Just like we become more aware of a certain type car or a certain style of shoes once we have purchased those items, we detect more easily a type of client we want to attract, a potential teacher or student, an ad for a job we desire, or an investment that may have been hidden in a sea of unimportant elements before we started focusing.

Removing possible barriers

The barriers to a specific outcome may be in our face, but we don’t want to see them. So we make up excuses that are emotionally more acceptable. We say things like “I cannot get this job because I am too old, too young, too ignorant, too qualified…” instead of admitting fears such as “I am afraid people will laugh at me”, or “I run the risk of becoming a bag lady…” and facing them squarely: Will they really laugh at me, or is it what my paranoid mother used to say? Aren’t there warning signs before you actually become a bag lady?

By asking you to identify your possible barriers, or to trust that your subconscious mind knows what your barriers are so that they can be eliminated, the hypnosis session allows you to let go of those barriers, deep down in your subconscious mind, where it really counts, and to let the Law of abundance manifest itself.

Heart-felt affirmations for a stronger self-esteem

Finally, the positive affirmations used to symbolically destroy your perceived barriers are a great way to increase your self-esteem. Not only do they remove the negative beliefs, but they also make you feel good about yourself. When you meet a prospective client or employer, your subconscious mind reminds you that you can do it, you can find the right thing to say, your efforts are worth it, and your life is wonderful.

Because “Abundance: The Secret in Action” allows you to focus on what you want, to place it in your subconscious mind as if it was a memory, to be more aware of opportunities when they materialize, to identify and remove your own barriers, and to increase your self-esteem, it definitely has the potential to manifest the Law of abundance and to attract riches in your life.
