While a marriage compatibility test is not necessarily going to ensure marital bliss, it can help you identify potential difficulties.

First 'Marriage Compatibility Test': Do you understand what marriage is all about?

Are the following statements true or false when it comes to having a successful marriage?
To take the test:
a. Read the statements.
b. Write down your replies.
c. Check the answer by rolling your mouse over the "Check Answer" button.

1. Even if we get married within three months of meeting each other, we still have as many chances to have a long and happy married life.

2. It is better to wait until we are at least 21 to get married.

3. It is better to have many mutual friends of both sexes.

4. One of us doesn't want children, so we won't have any kids.

5. We are more likely to stay together if we have the same level of education.

6. If we are both active in our religion, it's a good sign.

7. It doesn't matter if our family and friends disapprove of our marriage!

8. We don't have any sexual fixations.

9. We have money problems, but love conquers all things!

10. We have broken off temporarily more than three times, but we are still together.

11. We are both close to our respective parents.

12. In our childhood, we were both popular among our peers.

13. Within both of our families there are lots of divorces.

14. We both get along with our future in-laws.

15. When we were young, we were both generally obedient towards significant adults.

Now, tally your results by giving yourself one point for each right answer.

12 to 15 points: You understand what marriage is about. Your chances of having a long and happy relationship are good.
7 to 11 points: You have an average grasp of what makes a marriage work.
0 to 6 points: You may be a bit unrealistic. To increase your chance of marriage success, go back to your wrong answers and see how you can change your view of life as a couple.



Second 'Marriage Compatibility Test': Gender differences

The first 'marriage compatibility test' (above) will be helpful in your marriage, but only if you also have a good grasp of the differences between men and women.

12 points or more: You are very aware of gender differences. You have fewer distortions than most people.
6 to 11 points: You have an average degree of understanding of men and women.
0 to 5 points: Chances are you are using stereotypes when you think about the differences between men and women.
